Hi happynew year to all my question is im spraying my car acrilic paint what is the ratio paint to clear and?

what should the pressure of the gun be cheers .Hi happynew year to all my question is im spraying my car acrilic paint what is the ratio paint to clear and?
Usually I keep the gun pressure about 40 - 45 lbs. with a standard paint gun. If using HVLP gun it would be closer to 20 lbs. I generally applied 3 coats of color depending on how well it looked (some took 4 - 5 coats before they weren't still showing through) and then I put on a minimum of 3 coats of clear. The more you put on (clear) the more depth you will have in the overall look but every coat you put on is another chance for a paint run/sag or dirt in it. Good luck and Happy New Year to you as well!Hi happynew year to all my question is im spraying my car acrilic paint what is the ratio paint to clear and?
see a professional
This is a little too much of an open ended question. Depending on the brand and type of paint you are spraying will vary the mixing ratio. Usually on a basecoat/clearcoat system, you would spray the base coat and then the clear coat separately. Usually the base coat will be a certain percentage of base and percentage of reactive reducer/activator. The clear coat will be mixed with a hardener and reducer. The reducer, activator, and hardener will be specific as to the temperature that you are spraying.

The pressure of the gun will vary whether you are spraying with a HVLP gun or a non HVLP gun.

Usually the paint will have a mixing ratio on the can or ask for a sheet from the paint store with the mixing ratios and ask them the pressure your particular spray gun should be set at for the type of paint you are spraying.
