Im going to have a shot at painting my car, in what order do i apply paint. primer-basecoat - then clear?

ive read up about spray a car but they always lable basecoat (which i thought was the color) and clear coat ( clear shiny coat ) is this right. i need help, thanksIm going to have a shot at painting my car, in what order do i apply paint. primer-basecoat - then clear?
That's right, basecoat first then clearcoat. If you use a two step process. You can do it with a single stage, then you don't nead a clearcoat.
