alright all you have to do is remove all parts that ar already black and cover the barrel and the magazine feed in the gun.How would i paint my clear, airsoft spring powered, famas?
Whatever you do DON';T wipe it down with any cleaners with chlorine in them (ie, clorox products, bathroom cleaners, Brakleen or other brake parts cleaners). They will literally cause the plastic to crack and fall to pieces. Don't ask how I found that out.

Unless you are a gunsmith or an engineer, I DO NOT recomend you attempt to disassemble the gun before painting! I know the above kids recomended that you do so, but I'm old enough to be their father, and I'm telling you that if you Do disassemble the gun, you won't get it back together right. The Chinese at the factory have fixtures to hold the internal parts in place as the body halves are put together. You, do not!!! That being said, I'm a professional artist by trade, and this can be nicely done without disassembly. DO mask off any parts that are already black- no need to re-paint them, and more than one ';shade'; of black will look better than all the same shade.
The secret to success in doing this is to first sand the gun entirely, using very fine sandpaper. The paint will not stick right unless this is done. Then lay the gun on newspaper, and dust the surface slowly with flat black spraypaint from 2 to 3 feet away. You'll find that flat black isn't as opaque as you thought it was, and this will take several coats on each side.
Allow to dry 30 minutes between coats. When the gun is well covered on both sides use the same technique to apply a couple coats of DEFT brand Clear Gloss Wood Finish.(NOT POLYURETHANE!!!) Even if your flat black seemed to dry ';gummy'; this DEFT clearcoat will make it dry and hard!!Again, allow to dry 30 minutes between coats, and then leave it where it's at overnight. Complete the job by rubbing the ';metal'; parts down lightly with ';0000'; grade steel wool, while leaving the ';plastic'; stock/pistol grip parts untouched with their clearcoat intact. This will differentiate between the metal and plastic parts. This works pretty dern well. You'll be impressed by the results.
i would disassemble the gun to seperate the parts you wish to paint, then clean them with mineral spirits or alcohol, this take a very vine grit sand paper (automotive paint fine) and rough up the surface just a bit. then rinse and let FULLY air dry. then use the paint of your choice (recommend a krylon ultra flat black). small, even coats. allow to dry completely before handling
Break it down to just the casing.
wipe down with damp rag
use very fine sandpaper/emery cloth to rough surface
clean with rubbing alcohol and let dry a day
mask off all screw holes so they don't get filled in
use Krylon Fusion spray paint(made for plastics)
I'd go with about 3-4 thin coats
let dry completely between coats
clear coat if you want
re-assemble
